Dr. Edington received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed his internship at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center and his ophthalmology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Following his training, Dr. Edington served as a research associate at the Center for the Deaf and Blind in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He has held several clinical roles throughout California, including Chief Physician of Occupational and Urgent Care in Sunnyvale, Urgent Care Physician in Walnut Creek, and Medical and Surgical Ophthalmologist in San Diego. He has served as a Qualified Medical Examiner since 1997.

Following a medical internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, Dr. Kim completed an ophthalmology residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, NY, where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Kim then completed a two-year fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where he received the William Tasman Outstanding Fellow Award.
Dr. Kim is board certified in ophthalmology and is an active member of the Oculofacial Society/American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, an exclusive group of specialty surgeons comprised of less than 1000 members worldwide. He specializes in all conditions of the eyelid, orbit, and lacrimal system, including ptosis, ectropion, entropion, eyelid cancer, MOHS reconstruction, eyelid/facial twitching, orbital fractures, orbital tumors, thyroid eye disease, tearing/epiphora, as well as cosmetic surgery (blepharoplasty).
